last day of 2006...for the first time i can say thank god..i usually hate it when a new year comes along coz it just means that more time has gone by that we will never be able to get back ever again..but i'm honestly glad that this year is ending and i look forward to 2007 being a much better year than this one was..2006 had some highs..i got my A level results and started uni..made new friends there..great people! ended the first term with good results..but the last third of this year was quite an unhappy period for me and i'm leaving everything about it behind and starting the new year afresh! my dear friends i hope that we can meet up more during term time coz you peeps get to see each other quite abit being in the same school but i don't get to see you guys..only geri who always seems to be pretty free..oh well! let's all please pass our driving tests also!

oh the freedom..went to town yesterday with my aunt..window shopped to get a feel of what's available for x'mas gifts and things i want for myself..many many things..so i'm going back to my part time job tmr as a means of getting the moolah to buy the many many things i want :)

had netball training today..thankfully since a few people have joined us for like the past month now, attendance isn't as pathetic as usual..but as usual, no coach, no manager, training is difficult coz the new girls are not very familiar with the basics of the game and we try our best but without a coach to teach them how to do it right.. it's really hard..but at least we have them! so funny though coz when we first discovered them playing on our court during our training time, we found out that they were training for the mela netball tournament..which is in APRIL!!! i just found that sooo funny coz when we used to play for the mela tourney it was either no training at all or like just a week before..and this is like 5 mths before!!! mad!!

after training i went over to amarpreet's since she had called me earlier begging me to come over and alleviate her boredom :p and, as usual, i was accosted by her extremely hyper dog!!! so we sat around "lepaking" and talking cock and i told her what agony narin put me in on friday!!! narinder narinder..when i see you tmr...

tonight was pretty fun..went for a play put up by Jilly P's church group..it was held at CJ's PAC..was a pretty good story revolving around HIV and God and family life kinda stuff..after that went to adam rd with geri to makan and have her analyse the play with all her theatre studies theories..u need to study more geri :p ..had mee goreng but couldn't finish it coz it was just too hot for me(pathetic indian i know whatever!)..was nice just sitting there and chilling and talking and not having to care about anything else..geri of course still has exams so she was whining about that but i don't have to anymore!! was total peace of mind for me! after that went back to geri's current temporary place of residence a.k.a aunty's condo to chill and talk somemore about all sorts of nonsense..old stories, new stories, happy stories, sad stories..fun times : ) and many many more to come! hurry back maxine!

i FAILED..i knew it wasn't gonna be good when i heard tt i had test route 2 coz tt's the route tt i screwed up on during practice as well..too many lane changes and quite a bit of traffic compared to the rest..shit lah..so so so wasted..any other route and i'm sure i could've passed..my circuit was PERFECT..not even one bloody demerit point..no mistake..perfect..and then out to route 2 and bye bye license..so saddening..retest is on the 22nd of january..again a monday..again at 2.45pm..if i get route 2 again i'll just cry..was quite sad to disappoint my instructor as well..haiyoh..oh well..

had dinner last night with amarpreety and sharda at arab street..cool place called amirah's(or maybe aminah's) grill..amarpreet did the ordering for us since she's the food expert at all these places and the food was sooo sooo good..had lamb kofta..totally delish..a seafood platter with squid, fish, giganticus prawns and potato(how that is seafood i do not know) and pita bread with eggplant and chick pea dips..very very yummy! was stuffed coz i was forced to eat the appetiser, mushroom soup, and the desert, vanilla ice cream..was great fun! hope we do it again soon..amarpreet hurry and finish ur a levels!!

i have driving again later today..hope today's lesson goes better than tuesday's..that was just horrible..my second circuit lesson, firstly i was like 10 mins late..again..and so time was wasted..then i just hate the circuit man..it's always sooo crowded and must drive so slowly...oh and the slope..how i abhor that slope..due to how damn bloody steep it is the handbrake must be pulled up to like the highest possible and then after doing the whole clutch control thingy it's so difficult to lower the handbrake!! so while i'm struggling to lower it my foot goes dunno where and the clutch goes dunno where and when i actually do lower it i roll down the slope!!!! as in the immediate failure kind of roll..haiyoh..stress man..stupid handbrake! including today i have 5 lessons before my test..hopefully i get through..pray for me!!

not paying attention in class has serious reprecussions..whereas i could have done my stats homework in like an hour, i have now taken several hours to complete a few simple questions..i get stuck at every single question because i have no idea what is being asked of me..3 weeks ago when i actually paid attention in stats class(coz i didn't feel like carrying my laptop to school) i managed to do my homework relatively quickly..lesson learnt..now back to stats!

yesterday was funny..geri and i decided to go to amk library and get some studying done..we were supposed to be all hard core from about 2 to 7pm..basically 5 hrs of solid studying..so we get to amk library and there is absolutely no place to sit and study..soooo many people in the library..and not all are students..i saw some old dude playing around with his laptop and just all sorts of people all over the place reading and studying and whatevering..so after some deliberation we decided to quickly head over to the national library thinking that the place is so damn big there's gotta be somewhere we can sit down and do work..boy were we wrong..after like an hour long bus ride we arrive at the library to find out that there only 2 floors in the entire place designated to studying..and of course..again..the library was packed...it was a tuesday afternoon!!! don't these people have anything better to do???? apparently not...so what was next? since we were in the bencoolen area, prata was a must! so we sat and had prata and ice milo and tea..we were supposed to start studying at 2pm and by that time it was already 4+..so ok.. being in the vicinity of parklane made me wanna play pool so i begged geri and yay she relented so three games of pool later we finally start studying..where u ask?? mcdonald's at parklane..hahahahaha so much for all the library hunting..but it was cool coz i got quite a bit done..definitely much more than if i had stayed home..so we stopped studying at abt 9.30 then went to the arcade there and played daytona, time crisis and bishi bashi! haha it was real good fun..all in all a good day for me..studied n had quite a bit of fun! yay yay!

so i spent 5 hours in school yesterday preparing for and carrying out my LTB show and tell..went quite well..a lot of effort was put in by all the groups and in keeping with SMU culture, everyone was really creative about it. A group that's working with and organisation called the TENT brought a huge tent and set it up and put a projector inside to showcase the work they had done so far...was definitely the most eye-catching set-up

after school met up with amarpreety at PS..she was five thousand years late..as usual...then geri came and we talked and laughed and laughed and talked while we had our dinner at BK..after geri and i went to watch john tucker must die at cathay while amarpreet went home to be a good girl and spend time with her family.. the movie was goooood..totally enjoyable chick flick...geri drooled a puddle! after the movie we walked down little india..saw the lights..walked somemore then caught the bus and headed home..

yeah so not very exciting times..but there's still something there!!!

ok now let me update everyone on my work for this weekend..i have a sociology exam on monday which means tt i have to study..damn...then i've gotta do a sociology journal entry, an LTB journal entry, a written assignment for comms and i have to start on my second stats assignment..oh and read never ending political science..how much of that i'll actually do i don't know..but i'm going to try and be good this weekend..meaning minimal msn, minimal tv, minimal lazing around doing absolutely nothing..i'll try..

today's class lasted an hour..started at 8.30am and finished by 9.45...then after that i had to go get my laptop configured to the SMU system and blah and that lasted like 2 more hours by which time i was dying of hunger so instead of going threading as planned i ran home to eat. mother made me a sandwich but i wasn't satisfied so demanded moooooooore and i got instant noodles..wasn't nice..but ate it anyway..then felt v sleepy so intended to take an hour long nap but in the end was more like 3 hour long nap..

tomorrow's my loooong day..class from 8.30 to 11.45am then 3.30 to 6.45pm..hope the early class stretches for a bit if not i'll have waaaay too much time on my hands..wonder if i can last the day..will probably fall asleep in later class..though that prof only intends to be all introductory so will probably end school before 5pm..rocks my socks..

highly uneventful first day..i was late for class coz i went to buy the required readings for the course from the library..hadn't anticipated the queue..so ended up late..but i wasn't alone so it was ok..the class itself was pretty boring in my opinion..was trying hard to concentrate and not stone..finished an hour earlier then scheduled..yay! got quite a bit of readin to do before the next class..gonna try to start tonight..hahaha..so not gonna work out..i'll try though..i really will..for the next 3 mornings i'm gonna have to wake up early..classes at 8.30pm..don't intend to be late anymore..don't wanna sit in front! k gonna go read..really..

can't believe school's starting..at the moment i'm liking my timetable..i've got fridays off..yay!! aaaand class on mondays starts at 3.30pm..yeeeeaaaaah!! man but when the projects start it's really gonna be hell..i think we'll have a project for each course unit which means a total of 5 projects with 5 different groups of people...simultaneously!! i think that's the way it's gonna be..hell man..

tomorrow is SMU's convocation..have to dress super formally..long-sleeved white blouse, black skirt, court shoes and stockings..ew..hate stockings..ok i'm not in the mood to write anymore..just forcing myself to go on coz i haven't updated in ages..i think i'll go now..

so so so tired...had an academic briefing today where we were told more about our curriculum and the courses that we could take..i think i'm gonna enjoy my course alot..loads of interesting things to learn...thought i hate studying, i like to learn..there's a difference..i guess i'm gonna major in psychology and maybe, just maybe, do a second major in marketing..hmmm..4 yrs of school...hell..oh well..so tired..

my laptop hasn't arrived yet!!!! it's been 2 weeks already!!! so damn bloody annoying!!! i will kill the acer people!!! they said within two weeks!!! first they said withtin 10 days!!! i am not happy!!!! aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!!!!

had so many things to blog about recently, SMU matriculation, the Beach Party, my english language workshop ang my social science camp..but just been too lazy to sit down and type everything out coz a lot's been going on...i feel like i've already started school even though term officially begins on the 21st of august..and i'm still eagerly awaiting the arrival of my ultra cute laptop! it better come soon man!!! can't wait any longer...haiyoh really too lazy to type long stories..maybe some other day..yay to DH and grey's tonight!

i have to go for an english language workshop at smu from the 24th to the 28th of this month..best thing is..i got an e-mail yesterday, the 14th, telling me that i needed to write and submit an essay to my instructor for the course by the 12th....i almost died..i don't want to write an essay..i can't write an essay..i hate this..i'm trying to do the thing now but i really just can't get going..it's so difficult..i was never good at writing essays ever and now that i haven't done one in many many months, i've gotten even worse..i really don't know how i'm going to get through my course in SMU..really really scared..ok better get back to staring at microsoft word and praying that the essay writes itself somehow..oh and richard and if u read this anytime today by any chance..pls call me!!!!!

yay yay had driving lesson today..omg..who would've thought that left turns are so damn stressful..i hate the clutch..it makes life really difficult..aiyoyoyoyo..

second last match of the world cup in about half and hour..i'm gonna be neutral for this one!! saving my energy for tmr's final!!! omg it's gonna be sooooo exciting..tmr it's goooooooooooo italy!!!!!

world cup fever...it's so fun to get caught up in it...everyday now i have 10000 discussions with 10000 different people over previous matches, future matches, good players, cute players, stupid referees and what not..i can't believe it's ending so soooooooon..i'm gonna miss it even though it has been a bit draining staying up and watching the 11pm match then sleeping at 1am and trying to get up to watch the 3am match if it's a good one..anyway now that spain and england are both out..it's gooooooooooooooo portugal!! omg which brings me to the controversy between c.ronaldo and rooney which i just read about!!! ronaldo is so gone from man u..apparently he told rooney even before the bloody match started that he was going to get him sent off!! childish freakazoid! damn but he plays well..man u's gotta replace him with someone even better..hmmm..who could that be?? fernando torres of course!!!!!!!!!! ah but won't happen also..everybody's after him and his club doesn't wanna give him up :( :( :( but seriously man...boo ronaldo u dumbass!! ur own clubmate!!! what's your problem???? boooooooooooooo!!!! but still..go portugal!!!!!

can't get enough

quite an eventful week for me and max..went to CJ on tuesday(or was it monday??) to collect our A level certs followed by lunch and nonsense chatting at lido..then on wednesday we went to watch Cars..haven't watched a movie together in ages and Cars was an excellent choice coz we both loved it and the story was so cute and maxine can now be called Mater..which is the name of the tow truck in the show..has the exact same personality as max..so ya..Maxine=Mater!!! then after our movie we had dinner at orange julius..mimi u shld've come..then we walked down to park lane to play some pool..which we are trying to improve at again...we were actually quite alright at one point in time but due to lack of practice we're pokai again..but improving..slowly..very very slowly...

then on friday max and i went to watch a play that sharda was acting in..Shakers..it was held at the arts house..very cool..and the play was really good..we could so relate to some of the characters in the play..hahahaha..really good acting by the four actresses..they had to play quite a number of different characters but they pulled it of well and maintained the flow of the play..very entertaining..after the play we went to shah alam at boat quay for some prada(prata pronounced "classily") hahaha..ate with my hands after a loooong time..was just tooo hungry to pull the prata apart with the fork and spoon! after makaning we strolled on over to clarke quay just to check out the "scene" hahaha..quite happening..loads of people out and about..had free passes to MOS but didn't feel like it so we went over to cafe iguana just for the fun of it..had a drink each and chatted and then left to catch the last train and the last bus from serangoon..yes yes cheapos..but whatever!!

this morning we met about 9+ to go for a soccer tourney..went to support our dear friend ashwin!! as usual we reached the place and didn't wanna go in coz we were scared but we finally decided to just go and so we went in and proceeded to try and get ashwin's attention but he couldn't see us coz he wasn't wearing his specs..just great..so we just stood there for a bit till his match started then we tried to get his attention again and he saw us just as he was about to take a corner kick so he gave us a little wave and then kicked the ball dunno where also!! hahaha it was quite funny..after his match we all went to the canteen at the place to just chill out and when his team went out again to prepare for their next match they realised they had just missed it and the other team had been awarded a walkover!!! that basically ended the tournament for khatra hahaha..they tried really hard to get the decision changed so that they could continue but even with all their dramaing it wasn't to be! so we watched a few more matches here and there and maxine soaked in as much of a certain ew dude as she could and then we left to have lunch at mcdonald's across the road..after that we decided not to go back to the tourney since no one wanted to follow us back and we took the bus back to gardens, had a drink at the coffee bean..something we haven't done for ages also man..and then parted ways..

so now here i am at home..tired as hell coz i woke up at 5am to go to temple and haven't rested since...going to khalsa for someone's wedding reception tonight..hope it's fun..gotta go get some rest now..

world cup matches thus far have been somewhat lacklustre..actually woke up to watch the brazil vs croatia match hoping for some heart stopping action but it was just alright..and of course i just had to miss the spain ukraine match which ended up with spain winning 4-0, my darling being the one who scored the last goal..damn!!! so now gotta wake up by 9.30am tmr to watch it..great..

yaaaay! both narin and i passed our final theory test!! time to seriously get down to the business of finding an instructor and starting lessons!! quite excited :)

omg omg omg..my netball coach decided that we're not fit enough and we're gonna be having serious physical training on tuesday and thursday this week and the next!! for 2 hrs each time!!! hope i come out of this alive!! and yesterday she told me that if the girls get themselves into any nonsense in johor and i just keep quiet about it, she'll have my head!!! and if u've ever met her you'd know she's not kidding! so difficult because they always do stupid things like going to visit their boyfriends and all that shit!!! crap! i hope they help me out by just shutting up and behaving this year..i am seriously praying! it's easy for me to be the motivator and leader at trainings and stuff but keeping them disciplined isn't easy because i'm in the same age group as most of them...*sigh*...

my room...perpetual mess...mess causes stress..but i really really don't know what to do!!! sometimes i actually manage to get rid of some stuff and my room actually looks normal but five hours after that it'll just go back to messiness!!!! aaaaaaaaaaah damn frustrating!!! now i am having shouting matches with everyone in my house over the state of my room!!! and the dust..oh the dust..i sneeze fifty thousand times a day coz of the damn dust in my room!!!! it's everwhere!!! coz everything is everywhere!!! heeeeeeeeeeeeeellllllllllllllllppppppppppp!!!

netball...killer trainings man..actually they are supposed to be alright..it's just that due to sickness and laziness my stamina has gone down the toilet and i'm huffing and puffing away like some old lady...maaaaan!! ugh..training tmr! in the burning hot sun..makes it all the worse!! by the time my competition finishes in june i'll be charcoal..no doubt..

last night i attended an election rally at an open field in yishun..my first time ever...man was it cool..it started at 7pm but my mum, dad and i only got there around 8pm and we had to park quite far away coz the area was quite crowded with cars already...so as we were walking to the field from where we parked we could see hundreds of people already on the field and hundreds more converging on the area from all sides...it was really something. It had rained earlier in the day and the field was pretty wet and muddy and yet the people came, more and more and more till there were thousands..i am not kidding!! it was quite an experience and it was good listening to the issues that were raised and it was excellent seeing the support Singaporeans gave to this party..i just hope something comes of it..i wish i could vote...

i would seriously go for tonight's rally at AMK but unfortunately i have to study...this is what i get for procrastinating...

who has the biggest mouth competition..marianne, richard and geri competing..i think geri wins hands down!

just got some excellent news! our netball coach will be coming to train us from next week!!!! which also means that now i'm gonna feel superbly guilty about being in KL next weekend coz my coach is not gonna take kindly to my absence...i'm gonna get killed when she sees me the next week...die die die...amarpreet u know what i'm talking about right...remember your first, and last, training with khalsa??? hahaha ya so i'm dead but at least we have a coach..finally..things are looking up :)

oh by the way just for everyone's information..my trainings will be on sundays from next week onwards...don't panic mari..i'm still free this sunday

ok let me start with april 13th, thursday, day before vesakhi..two bhangra nights were on and narin and i definitely wanted to go for one buuuut we didn't know which to go for..it was really quite a difficult decision but we made the decision together and promised not to blame each other if it sucked..so we met around 10.20..was supposed to be 10 but i couldn't get ready on time..as usual..coz i was watching american idol when i shld hv been getting ready...then i couldn't decide what to wear..then i realised nobody would care anyway so i just wore whatever and ran for the bus stop! so the whole way to chijmes we were like it's gonna be so bad, no one's gonna be there and blah blah blah blah..so we met narin's brother at chijmes got out tix and went in..skeptical at first..but then narinder spots hot people hahaha so she's happy so we start dancing and we never stop!!!! the music rocked and the crowd was good too!!! man was the place packed...hardly any space to move! so we had a great time but had to leave really early coz we had to go to temple the next morning...

the next morning, april 14th, friday, vesakhi, the most major celebration for us sikhs...vesakhi represents the day our religion was actually born...i think...if u want to know more, go search the web..it would be of way more help..and it's also the celebration of the harvest in punjab i think..but that doesn't really apply to us..do u see us farming over here?? i don't think so..but hey, we're more than happy to use that as a reason to celebrate..punjabi people jump at the chance to celebrate anything..which is what i really love about my people :) :) :) hehehe so anyway vesakhi this year was quite fun for me..went to three different temples..met many friends and relatives...watched a cute kiddy fashion show..which jasmine helped organise hahaha...then in the evening we had a family dinner at the club..celebrate good times come on!!!

two days later, april 16th, friday, geri's birthday, vesakhi mela...mela means funfair/carnival..so our mela here in singapore starts off with sports events in the morning, soccer, netball and hockey..this year i didn't have a team to play netball with, so along with my khalsa teammates i had to help run the tournament...doing fixtures, umpiring and stuff like that...there were a total of seven teams this year and twenty matches were played in total! my sister took part with a team of little people hahah but they were the only under 12 team so we had to put them with the under 18's..when they played their first match we were so scared that they'd either get trampled on by the bigger people or they'd lose by a mile buuuuuuuuuut lo and behold, they won the match!!!!!! it was the most exciting match of the entire tournament...everyone along the sidelines was cheering like crazy...i was jumping up and down and clapping and screaming hahahahaha soooo funny!!! max came around 10+ and got roped in to help keep score and stuff like that...then narin came around 1 and we were all just burning in the sun...especially me and i've got the peeling nose to prove it! after the whole thing was over we headed over to khalsa itself where the food and game stalls were and had our "lunch" which was actually just potato wedges..then we walked around for a bit watched a few performances and then......it started to pour!!! rain rain and more rain...we were standing around waiting for the longest time for the rain to lessen so that we could go out and get a cab...finally it did and we managed to get home!! super tiring day but i had loads of fun! we recruited some new girls for our netball team as well...it was a good day!

there've been so many events i've wanted to update about over the past few days but i've been way too lazy...and now...just as i'm gonna start on this long awaited update, i'm being summoned to have lunch!!! so looks like it's gonna have to wait till evening!

I'm so tired due to my sudden inability to sleep well at night...last night i tossed and turned and tossed and turned and really only slept close to 7am...i need to go running...keep fit...but now that i'm falling sick i can't even do that till i'm better...bad bad bad

Grey's anatomy starts on star world tonight..which is great coz i think i missed the first 2 episodes so i get to watch them!! grey's anatomy twice a week!!! yes yes i know, i'm addicted to TV and it's not good..but my real life is nothing great so let me just live in my TV world!

went to khalsa, ate dinner, laughed at the people playing the games, hoped to win something from the lucky draw, unfortunately didn't win anything! had sooo much fun dancing coz we were doing all sorts of funny things and spinning and spinning and spinning, taking up as much space as we could, stealing glances here and there :)

after that ended max and i walked down to adam's corner(prata shop) for some refreshments and cockroach observing hahaha..all in all it was a fun night!

today was fun even though it was just max, amarpreet and me due to geri having work and narin and meem having other engagements...hahaha max couldn't swim today so it was just me and amar in the pool..i don't think u could call what we were doing swimming coz all we did was take turns to lie on max's brother's boogie board and be pulled around by the other person!! it was an excellent day to swim though(sorry max!!) coz the sun was just nice and the water wasn't too cold..after getting ot of the pool we sat by the poolside playing cards and munching on delicious potato chips from marks & spencers...then we got caught eating by the security guard so we had to "clear away the food" which translates to munching in secret..and thanks to armpit's phone we had good music to listen to as well!! after that we went up to max's house to bathe and everything and then amar had to go for tuition but i stuck around for a while and max and i watched the jay sean/juggy d comedy interview video two more times hahaha hilarious!! then i had to leave too coz i had dance practice for a performance this saturday..after that met up with amarpreet again since i was in her hood and we makaned and chatted and the time just flew by...suddenly it was 10.45pm! so it was time to get home..took the mrt and when i got to s'goon i decided to walk down one bus stop coz it was such a nice night for a walk...cool breeze and all...then as i was approaching the bus stop i saw my bus just leaving so i walked to the next stop! then got the bus and now i'm home, writing this, wondering why the simple life is on tv when i want to watch scrubs...ok so gotta go see if there even is scrubs tonight!!

on another note...i hope wish and pray that i get into SMU! just today there was an article in the paper about how all SMU graduates mananged to find jobs with excellent starting pay and that's a really good thing coz all i seem to hear usually is that most graduates these days can't even find jobs! there are a lot of pros when it comes to SMU, the biggest one being it's location! i wanna go there so desperately now!!

yesterday i went for the asian aerospace exhibition..man was the air display SOLID!!! it was exhilirating just standing there and watching the planes flying faster than the speed of sound and turning upside down and all around and to hear the sound of the engine of the F-16 and
F-15!!!! it rocked!!! and we got to see the A380 flying around as well..it is a HUGE plane! i wish i could be a fighter pilot..that was once an ambition of mine...but i don't actually want to fight...i just want to fly the planes for display purposes like they were doing yesterday..i wish i wish i wish...okokok i know it's not going to happen..ever...but i can dream...

ow ow ow ow ow..my thighs hurt..soooo bad..i can hardly walk..i waddle most of the time..sitting down ow ow ow..climbing steps owowowowowowowow..hahaha i wonder how i'm gonna feel tomorrow..i won't be surprised if i can't even get out of bed..and i'm supposed to go to work by 9 tomorrow..help..

excellent run today considering how long it's been..3.2km non-stop though i got slower and slower and slower..but it sure felt great!!!!!! going cycling around gardens with max tomorrow after work and hope to go for a run at the stadium again on wednesday! oh and congrats mimi on becoming a teacher!

going for a jog today at serangoon stadium after the longest time! i'm so unfit right now...netball training begins this saturday..i'm so dead! thankfully our coach won't be there for the first session..coz if she were to come we'd all be in a whole load of trouble coz we haven't maintained our fitness at all! i have to jog as much as possible this week!!!!!!!

thank god the everlasting rain has stopped..man was it bad..it rained non-stop from sunday morning to tuesday night..3 solid days of rain and cold and gloom..after that it was on and off and off and on..and now it has halted!!

monday morning was interesting coz i went to NUH for my appointment with an opthalmologist..the appt was for 8.30 but we got there at 8 and the clinic only opens at 8.30 so we had to wait outside for half an extremely boring hour..so after submitting my appt letter and registering i had to do the usual eye test..my eyesight's gotten worse..no surprise..then after that they had to take the pressure of my eyeball or something..haha that machine was funny coz like u stare into this tiny hole and all of a sudden a quick blast of air hits your eye hahaha it was quite shocking..yeah so as usual spent five years waiting for the doctor and whatever coz they only begin seeing patients at 9am..luckily i was the first one..oh man the anaesthetic eyedrops..they make your eyeballs feel so damn weird..imagine numb eyeballs..numb eyeballs!! they use those drops when they want to put something very close to or on your eyeball..it numbs the eyeball so you don't feel anything..what a feeling..and that wasn't enough! after being sent for a couple more tests in other rooms and everything the doctor decided he wanted to do something else that required my pupils to be dilated..so they had to give me eyedrops to dilate my pupils!! and i had to wait 20 minutes for it to take effect before i could see the doctor again..after that i was finally allowed to go and it was already 11+..more than 3 hours spent there! anyway when i left the doc's the whole pupil dilation thingy hadn't work off so that felt weird as well coz everything seemed soooo bright and i had to squint like crazy to prevent too much light entering my eyes! ph and i asked the doctor if i could wear contacts and he said it was my decision to make but i should really be careful..there's still a hint of a scar on my right pupil..sigh sigh sigh..

ok skip to friday..met max, mimi, narin and amarpreet(for a brief moment) in town..went to watch in her shoes..good movie..then i had to head off to khalsa for some sports meeting while the rest went to meet geri and keerthi in selegie to have sushi..yeah so my meeting went alright..but it looks like australia's not gonna happen this year due to the mela being the same weekend as the games :( oh well next year hopefully! even though i've really had enough of waiting to go for this!!! aaaaaaaaaah! ok i'm fine..

today geri, narin and i went to the driving centre in ang mo kio to sign up for our basic theory..so me and geri have our test date set whereas narin didn't bring her glasses and so has to go and register tomorrow coz u have to pass some minor eyesight test..actually i couldn't see as well coz my degree has gone up but i haven't changed my glasses and i was going to have to come back some other time also but the lady was really nice..she encouraged me to just try a bit harder and thankfully i made it!! so 7th feb is when we sit for the test! exciting :) though a bit scary..

ok and Man U just lost the manchester derby..i don't really know what to say..

what a saturday night...sitting at home in front of the computer..excitement galore..

dinner at charmaine's house/surprise super belated birthday for amarpreety kaur last night was fun! the tuna pasta that mimi's mum made was super delish though kinda spicy and the birthday cake was absolute yum! haha and our conversation over dinner was "interesting"/gross..cringe...after dinner we watched a certain super hilarious video tape and took picture after picture after picture as is typical! max bax pax lax tax please quickly download hello and send the many many pictures to me :)

i wonder when we're gonna start training again for khalsa netball..haiyoh everytime we have a break we never seem to be able to pick it up again...really hope that we can go for the australian games this year..we've been deprived of those games for a few years already since our team is so small and their committment is non-existent! bloody hell...and everyone's raving about the fact that it's being held in sydney this year so i pray that we actually get to go! a chance to check out the aussie sikh community :)

bored bored bored bored oh so bored...alrighty let me pick up from where i left off..so last friday was alright..tons of performances during the giddha at singapore swimming club..seriously lots and lots of performances..and the hot song to perform at this point in time is kajra re..there were two or three performances of that song that night itself..crazy!!!

saturday night we went over to the groom's house for dinner and some noise-making..ladies singing, everyone else just sitting around enjoying their dinners laughing and chatting..children running all over the place(huge house).. very fun and lively atmosphere..best part about weddings! around 11.30pm we left the house and i took the mrt from kembangan to novena to meet charmaine..we were supposed to get on the same train heading to orchard as geri and max but since me and mimi were sitting facing the wrong direction and not even paying attention to which train was which we missed the train! hahaha was really quite funny! so we got on the next train and met max and geri at orchard and all the happy new year hugs were exchanged..then we headed towards indochine to wait for the rest..man was orchard chaotic..tons and tons and tons of people swarming all over the place with spray cans of foam and string..police were all over the place as well thank god..not that they could do much about the chaos..so the four of us were waiting outside indochine when we heard these screams from behind us so we turn and see kim, shaleen and treepti running towards us covered in foam! everyone started laughing and talking so loudly and trying to get the foam off them when another dude comes from behind and sprays max and treepti with some more foam(i had a narrow escape)! so everyone starts screaming and laughing again!! after a while we all calm down and wait for the rest(narin, aman and amarpreet) to arrive..so after they all get there i bid my adieus and went home to have as good a rest i could seeing as it was 2 am by the time i reached home and i had to wake up at 6am to get ready for the long wedding day!!

so sunday morning i manage to wake up although i'm so so so sleepy..we head over to the groom's house first and then pack off into 2 chartered buses to make our way to the bride's house for the milni(meeting between bride's and groom's families and exchange of gifts) and breakfast..huge house again..excellent breakfast!!!! there was yummy cake :) after that it was back to the buses and this time we headed to katong temple where the wedding was to be held..the wedding was attended by loads and loads of people..the prayer hall was packed and yet more and more people came..the ceremony was nice..the bride looked beautiful in a pink punjabi suit with an extremely heavy looking but ever so beautifully embroidered dupatta(scarf). after the ceremony we had lunch in the temple and then headed back to the groom's house to await the arrival of the bride..was quite a long wait and i was oh so tired and getting more and more tired by the minute do to my lack of sleep..we left for home a while after the bride arrived at the household..i managed to sleep for about an hour(soo wasn't enough) before i had to wake up and get myself ready for the reception at raffles town club..i knew i wasn't gonna be ready on time so my parents left first and i caught a ride with my aunt.

the ballroom was gorgeous and there was such an excellent variety of food and desserts! unfortunately i couldn't eat all that much as i was wearing a sari and it was tied so tight that it seriously limited how much i could put in my stomach..there were quite a few performances..all very very good as usual..mix of bhangra and hindi songs..the main bhangra performance was by sher-e-punjab..they dance really well and they did a medley of songs..it was really a pleasure to watch..very different from the usual bhangra performances..and of course a while after that they opened the dance floor wooo hoooo!! duh that's what i had been waiting for all along..so me and my cousins and my aunts and my mum danced and danced and danced!!

k so i thought that was it..reception over means that's the end of everything buuuut we were invited to dinner again at the groom's house the next night..monday night..so for the final time we all got together and had dinner and had our sing-song and had our conversations and had our laughs :) man was the entire wedding fun..it was just so cool to get together with so many family members we don't see often and make new friends and all that..memories memories memories!!

on tuesday i dragged max to meet up with my cousin's cousins from australia and 2 of their other friends from australia as well..we went to mustafa and bugis and had a lot of laughs..oh geri if only you'd woken up! oh and thanks so much max for coming along coz you know how shy i am! don't know what i would've done on my own! but actually they're so friendly and easy to talk to..made it all the better!

last night we went to the Ministry of Sound!!! been dying to go there! haha we lined up at like 8.30 or something like that just so that we'd be able to get in fast and get a table and all that..that place is massive and it is sooo cool! each room was like WOW! the decor was gorgeous..we spent most of our time in the r n b room which was small and soooo packed we had soo little space to dance and we weren't even on the actual dance floor..it was insane!!!! i had a lot of fun! we must must must go again..amarpreet, narin, and mimi khoo you have got to come too!

right i've gotta go eat pear! charmaine i'm looking forward to dinner tomorrow!
